Half In Half Out

There is pleasure in the pathless woods;

There is rapture on the lonely shore;

There is society, where none intrudes,

By the deep sea, and music in it's roar:

I love not man the less, but Nature more.

- Lord Byron

In a time when we are so disconnected from the natural world around us, Half In Half Out gives an immersive, involved view of the British coastal landscape. The quintessentially British seaside environment is well loved and well documented by visitors and photographers alike, this series of images takes traditional viewpoints combining them with experimental techniques to create new perspectives. Portraying a variety of coastal scenes from the south of England, the images incorporate underwater photography, the unpredictability of in-camera double exposures and more conventional photographic practices.
